Fira Gran Via — L’Hospitalet

The large modern venue, home to MWC, ISE, Smart City Expo, IBTM World, Alimentaria and Automobile Barcelona. About 10 km and roughly 15 minutes from the airport. The halls stretch along more than a kilometre, so tell us your hall or access when you book and we drop you at the nearest gate.
Fira Montjuïc — Plaça Espanya
Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina · Palau de Congressos · metro L1/L3 (Espanya)
The historic venue at the foot of Montjuïc, in Barcelona proper, around 13–15 km and about 20 minutes from the airport. Used by smaller fairs, congress sessions and events like Sónar by Day. If your event says “Montjuïc” or “Plaça Espanya”, this is the one.
Why a fixed price for congress week
The price you see is the price you pay
Agreed at booking and confirmed by email before you fly: the standard luggage you declare, VAT and the driver waiting at arrivals are all inside it. Special luggage — skis, a boxed bike, golf clubs or suitcases beyond those declared — has a published rate, added before you pay. No meter and no supplements on the day, however busy the roads around the venue are.

The driver waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name, and you have 60 minutes of free waiting counted from the actual landing time. From hotels and the venue, the driver is at the agreed door at the agreed time.
Flight tracking and free waiting
We track your flight: if it is delayed, we adjust the pickup time and email you. Free waiting: 60 min at the airport, 30 min at the cruise port and Sants station, 15 min at any other address.
Paid online, invoiced with VAT
You pay online when you book through a secure payment gateway, with instant confirmation. Every booking is invoiced with VAT, in your company’s name if you ask, so expensing the trip is straightforward.

Hotel ↔ venue runs
Most delegates stay in Plaza Europa, the Eixample or along the Diagonal and the 22@ district. Book a morning run to the venue and an evening run back, each at its own fixed price, and stop hunting for a cab outside the halls at closing time.
Whole teams, staggered pickups
For congress hotels we manage staggered pickups of full teams, coordinating several vehicles when needed. Sedans for two, larger minivans and vans for a delegation with demo kit, and minibuses on request for the whole stand crew.
One invoice for the agency
Agency, broker or organiser of recurring groups? We work with net rates and monthly invoicing, so the whole congress programme arrives on one invoice instead of a pile of taxi receipts. Individual bookings are invoiced with VAT too.
Stands, screens and sample cases
Tell us at booking what you travel with — flight cases, screens, cabling, product samples — and we assign a vehicle with the boot space to match. The vehicle table below shows the real seat and bag capacity of each category.

The metro alternative, honestly
Fira Gran Via is one of the few venues in Barcelona with a direct metro link from the airport: line L9 Sud stops at Fira and Europa | Fira, both next to the venue, without changing trains. It works well for a solo visitor with hand luggage. Three things to weigh up before you rely on it:
- L9 Sud does not reach the city centre. From the Eixample, the Diagonal or Sants you need at least one change, which with a suitcase and a laptop bag is a slower start to the day than it looks on the map.
- During MWC and ISE the platforms at the airport and at Fira fill up in the same morning and evening windows as the roads — the queue simply moves underground.
- A private transfer is door to door: terminal to the gate nearest your hall, or hotel to venue, at a price agreed in advance. For two or more people travelling together the difference per head narrows quickly.
Frequently asked questions — congress transfers
- How far is Fira Gran Via from Barcelona Airport?
- About 10 km — roughly 15 minutes by road in normal traffic from either T1 or T2. It is the shortest transfer we run. The fixed price from €36 covers the whole journey in an Economy sedan, standard luggage and VAT included.
- Do your prices go up during MWC or ISE?
- The price you see when you book is the price you pay: it is agreed before payment and does not change on the day, whatever the taxi queue or the ride apps are doing. What can differ is the tariff itself for peak dates, which the booking form shows for your exact date and time before you pay. Minibus bookings for the biggest events are quoted individually.
- Where does the driver wait at the airport?
- In the arrivals hall of your terminal, holding a sign with your name. Give us your flight number: we track your flight: if it is delayed, we adjust the pickup time and email you, and you have 60 minutes of free waiting counted from the actual landing time.
- Can you drop me at a specific hall or access?
- Yes. The Gran Via halls stretch along more than a kilometre, so tell us the hall number or the access named on your badge or invitation when you book and the driver stops at the nearest gate that the event’s traffic plan allows. On the busiest days the organiser manages drop-off lanes; we follow their instructions.
- Where do I collect my badge?
- Registration desks are at the venue accesses, and for the largest shows the organiser has in the past also opened collection points at the airport terminals during the event. It changes edition by edition, so check the registration email from your organiser. If you plan to collect on site, tell us and the driver drops you at the access closest to registration.
- Do you do very early morning pickups?
- Yes, 24/7. Set-up crews and early flights are normal in congress week: book the exact time you need and the car is at the door then. On MWC closing day, leave more margin than usual for the airport — airport approaches can grind to a halt by midday, and around 90% of delegates leave on closing day itself.
- Can I get an invoice for my company?
- Yes. Every booking is invoiced with VAT, and we issue it in your company’s name and tax number on request. Agencies and organisers of recurring groups can work with net rates and monthly invoicing. Write to [email protected] with the details.
- What is the biggest vehicle you have?
- Sedans, minivans and vans, each with its real seat and luggage capacity shown in the booking form, plus minibuses on request quoted on WhatsApp (public tariff on our minibus page). For a full stand crew or a client delegation we can also coordinate several vehicles leaving in sequence from the same hotel.
- Do you go to the Plaza Europa hotels and the Barcelona centre?

- Which venue is my event at — Gran Via or Montjuïc?
- Check your badge or invitation. Gran Via is in L’Hospitalet, about 10 km from the airport, and hosts MWC, ISE, Smart City Expo, IBTM World, Alimentaria and Automobile Barcelona. Montjuïc is by Plaça Espanya in Barcelona itself, around 13–15 km and about 20 minutes from the airport. Both are on this page; tell us which one when you book.
- How do I pay, and can I cancel?
- You pay online when you book through a secure payment gateway, with instant confirmation by email. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are completely free — manage the booking from the confirmation email or write to [email protected].
- Can I add a child seat?
- Yes, on request for a supplement from €4 on top of the fixed price — child and booster seats are not included by default. Tell us the ages when you book and the driver brings the right seat, fitted before departure.
