QuickPickupsIBTM World is the global meeting point for the events industry itself — the show where planners, agencies, venues and destinations do a year’s worth of business in three days. Held at Fira Gran Via every November, it draws an almost entirely international, B2B audience, and it is an audience that notices logistics because logistics is their trade.
Where IBTM World takes place
The show fills Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in L’Hospitalet, roughly 10 km and 10 to 15 minutes from Barcelona-El Prat Airport. It is one of the closest major venues to the terminal, which makes a direct transfer both quick and easy to justify — no metro changes, no queue, straight to the correct entrance.
A fitting arrival for a MICE audience
For people who plan events for a living, the arrival experience is part of the judgement. A pre-booked transfer with a professional meet & greet, a fixed fare and flight tracking removes the friction of a taxi queue after an international flight and sets a confident tone for the days ahead. Delegations can share a minivan and travel together rather than splitting across cabs.
Tips for IBTM World week
- Book early — international arrivals concentrate across the same two or three days.
- Share your flight number so a delayed inbound flight is never a problem.
- Travelling as a team? A minivan keeps everyone and the materials together.
- Reserve the return airport leg too; departures cluster on the final day.
