By rail there is no through service: you ride Rodalies R2 Nord into Barcelona and change to the R11 regional or a high-speed train. Check the current timetables before you fly.
- We're staying inside Girona's Barri Vell – can the car collect us at the door?
- Probably not at the door itself. The Barri Vell is a pedestrian-priority area with restricted traffic and parking: a camera records every vehicle entering via Plaça Catalunya and automatic bollards guard other access points. To avoid fines and dead-end lanes, we agree a pickup spot on the edge of the old town when you book. Be there with your bags on time, as 15 minutes of free waiting applies.
