The Vichy Catalán thermal spa has drawn visitors to its mineral-medicinal waters since the 19th century, and its neo-Mudéjar hotel, with its own chapel and 20,000 m² garden, is one of the most distinctive spa buildings in Catalonia.
A train that technically exists, but rarely helps
Caldes de Malavella does have a station a few hundred metres from the hotel, which makes it look reachable on a map. In practice, getting there from the airport means the Aerobús or airport train into central Barcelona, then a regional Rodalies service with a limited timetable — easily two hours or more with spa bags and a robe to pack.
A direct route instead
A private transfer skips every change: straight from arrivals to the spa entrance, fixed price agreed before you fly, and 60 minutes of free waiting if your flight lands late. It is the difference between arriving relaxed for a treatment appointment and arriving stressed after two train changes.
