About this route
Soldeu and El Tarter are the Grandvalira gateway most people are actually looking for when they land in Barcelona: two villages a few minutes apart on the same CG-2 valley road, with hotels at the foot of the gondola. From Barcelona-El Prat Airport it is 219 km and about 3 h 14 without traffic. The car climbs on the Spanish side, the C-16 with the Cadí Tunnel or the C-14, at the driver’s discretion based on road conditions, crosses the border and follows the CG-2 past Encamp and Canillo up to the resort. Tolls are included in the fixed price, the Cadí one among them at €14.56 for a car in 2026.

Book the return leg too, and book it early: on changeover Saturdays everyone comes down within the same few hours. In heavy snow, allow 30–45 minutes over the usual running time. Skis and boards travel as special equipment: €15 per set per passenger, with a limit per vehicle — one set in a saloon, two or three in a minivan, four or more in a van. - Can I cancel my booking?

- Do you drop off at the hotel door in Soldeu and El Tarter?
- Yes. Soldeu and El Tarter are two villages a few minutes apart on the same CG-2 valley road, and we drive to the hotel entrance in either one — no bus station, no final taxi with your skis. Give us the hotel name when you book.
- Do I need my passport for this trip?
