Andorra: private transfer vs direct bus

A direct bus exists and is the budget option — but it runs on a fixed timetable, ends at Andorra la Vella bus station, and was never designed around ski bags or an airport connection.

The direct bus is a fair budget choice if you’re staying right in Andorra la Vella and travelling light. For ski luggage, groups, resorts away from the capital, or anyone who would rather not manage a bus timetable plus a final taxi in the snow, a private transfer removes every one of those extra steps.

Is the price fixed or can it change?

The price is completely fixed from €299. No meter and no hidden tolls, and the standard luggage you declare when booking is included. Special luggage (skis or a board, a bike, golf clubs or suitcases beyond those declared) has its own published rate on our extras page and is added before you pay. What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight in real time through the flight number you provide at booking. If there’s a delay, your driver proposes a new pickup time at no extra cost and we email it to you. You also get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.

How many passengers and bags fit?

It depends on the category you choose. From the Economy with 4 seats to the Van XXL with 14 seats and 14 bags. Enter passengers and bags when booking: the search only shows you the vehicles where everything fits, with real seat and luggage figures. If your group is bigger than our largest vehicle, message us on WhatsApp and we quote you.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are completely free. You can manage it from the confirmation email or by writing to [email protected].

Do I need my passport for this trip?

Yes. Andorra is not part of the EU customs union, so border checks do happen (more frequently on the way out of Andorra than on the way in). Keep your passport or national ID card accessible.

Can you take skis, snowboards or other bulky sports luggage?

Skis and boards travel as special equipment: €15 per set per passenger, with a limit per vehicle — one set in a saloon, two or three in a minivan, four or more in a van. Tell us how many sets you are carrying when you book: if they do not fit, we quote the larger vehicle before you pay, never after.

What happens if there's snow or bad weather on the mountain roads?

We climb from the Spanish side — the C-16 with the Cadí Tunnel, or the C-14 — and the driver picks between the two on the day; the road that gets cut in winter is the French one (the RN-20 was closed from 31 January to 9 March 2026 after a rockfall). For mountain routes we assign a vehicle that is ready for them: our fleet meets the mandatory winter equipment rules and, when conditions call for it, the assigned vehicle goes up with chains on board. Andorra requires winter equipment across its whole road network from 1 November to 15 May; in Spain the obligation is triggered by the R-412 sign on the stretch itself. In heavy snow, build in extra time (30–45 minutes) over the usual run of about 2 h 50.

Is the direct bus cheaper than a private transfer?

Yes, the direct bus (from about €31.50–35 one-way) is cheaper for a solo light traveller — but it ends at Andorra la Vella bus station, not your hotel, and runs on a fixed timetable rather than your flight’s schedule.

Can a group book one minivan for the whole ski trip?

Yes — for groups or families carrying ski equipment, a larger minivan or van (see the vehicle table above) is usually the most practical and cost-effective choice per person, and it is also the only way to fit four or more ski sets: a saloon takes one, a minivan two or three.
