L'Escala lies about 155 km northeast of Barcelona Airport, a 100–120 minute drive on the AP-7 and then the C-31 and GI-623. Set at the southern end of the Gulf of Roses, it is known for the Greco-Roman site of Empúries, its famous anchovies and coves such as Montgó. We drop you at your hotel or apartment door.

- Is there a coach from Barcelona Airport to L'Escala?
- Yes: Moventis Sarfa's Costa Brava Centre line links El Prat and Barcelona Nord with L'Escala, stopping at Plaça de les Escoles after calling at towns such as Palafrugell, Pals and Torroella de Montgrí. It's a long ride with many stops and few departures. L'Escala has no railway, so check the current timetable and which services actually start at the airport.
- Which part of L'Escala will you drop us in – the town, Riells or Empúries?
- Wherever your accommodation is. The municipality stretches from Montgó cove in the south, past Riells and its shallow family beach, to the town centre and fishing port, and north to the Empúries ruins and the medieval hamlet of Sant Martí d'Empúries. Because these areas are spread around the bay, give the full street and number rather than just 'L'Escala'.
