The Castell de Peralada estate combines a working winery, an 18-hole golf course, a casino and a spa around a medieval village near the French border. It is one of the most complete resort destinations in Catalonia — and also one of the furthest from Barcelona by road.
A two-hour drive with no train link
Figueres, home to the Dalí museum and a mainline train station, is only 15 minutes from Peralada — but nothing public connects the two. Travellers arriving by rail from Barcelona still need a taxi or private car for the final stretch, and taxi availability in Figueres outside the station rank can be unpredictable.
