About this route

13 kmdistance15–25 mindurationFrom €42

Sants is Barcelona’s main high-speed rail station, and linking the AVE train to a flight at El Prat is the number-one reason this route exists. It is about 13 km, covered in 15–25 minutes: your driver waits inside the station at the agreed meeting point with a name sign, and you head straight to T1 or T2.

Why book with QuickPickups?

The Sants taxi rank builds queues when several trains arrive back to back, and the commuter train to the airport only serves T2, with a shuttle transfer to T1. Book ahead and, if your AVE runs late, we track the train just as we track flights and adjust the pickup, at a fixed price that does not change with the hour.

When to choose this route?

Same-day AVE + flight connections, travellers from Madrid, Zaragoza or Seville catching an international flight from BCN, and families with luggage who want nothing to do with platforms and escalators. Also business travellers who need to be at the gate on time and cannot gamble on the taxi queue.

Practical tips

Give us your train number at booking: we monitor it like a flight. For tight connections, leave at least 2.5 hours between AVE arrival and take-off. The usual meeting point is the arrivals exit — we confirm it by message. Groups: a minivan keeps you together.

Frequently asked questions

Barcelona Sants Station (AVE) to Airport: how long is the journey and how many kilometres?
The trip is about 13 km and 15–25 minutes door to door, depending on traffic. The fixed price from €42 covers the whole route — no meter, no surprises.
Is the price fixed or can it change?
The price is completely fixed from €42. No meter and no hidden tolls, and the standard luggage you declare when booking is included. Special luggage (skis or a board, a bike, golf clubs or suitcases beyond those declared) has its own published rate on our extras page and is added before you pay. What you see when booking is what you pay.
What time should I be picked up to catch my flight?
The drive to Barcelona Airport takes about 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. Airlines usually recommend arriving 2 hours before a European flight and 3 hours before a long-haul one, so choose your pickup time with that margin and add extra time at rush hour. You set the pickup time yourself when you book.
How many passengers and bags fit?
It depends on the category you choose. From the Economy with 4 seats to the Van XXL with 14 seats and 14 bags. Enter passengers and bags when booking: the search only shows you the vehicles where everything fits, with real seat and luggage figures. If your group is bigger than our largest vehicle, message us on WhatsApp and we quote you.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are completely free. You can manage it from the confirmation email or by writing to [email protected].
Is there a direct train between Sants station and the airport?
Yes, to Terminal 2. The Rodalies R2 Nord links Sants and T2 in roughly 20 minutes, usually every half hour. For Terminal 1 you continue on the free shuttle bus between the terminals, which are about 4 km apart. The L9 Sud metro does not stop at Sants, and the Aerobús doesn't call there either, so neither gets you there without a change.
My train into Sants might run late. How long will the driver wait?
At Sants, 30 minutes of free waiting is included. Add your train number when booking: we follow the train much as we follow flights, so if it's running late the pickup moves with it. If you need to collect bags from the left-luggage office or meet someone first, build that into the pickup time you give us.
