We are looking for transfer companies in Madrid

QuickPickups is a transfer company based in Barcelona. We do not run local transfers in Madrid: what we are looking for there are companies with a VTC, taxi or coach licence that want to join our supplier network and handle, with their own driver and vehicle, the services requested from us in the city.

Why we are looking for suppliers in Madrid

We want to offer our clients (travellers, hotels and agencies) fixed-price pickups when they land or arrive by train in Madrid, and also to those who link Madrid and Barcelona in the same trip. To look after them properly we need to work with companies that know the city, hold the right authorisation and reply quickly. We do not compete with you on the street: we pass you the service already booked, with the passenger identified and priced at your own rate.

What we do from Barcelona are long-distance transfers to and from Madrid, quoted individually. This page, however, is only about recruiting suppliers based in Madrid.

Barajas: terminals T1, T2, T3 and T4

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport accounts for most of the demand. Terminals T1, T2 and T3 form one complex, while T4 and its satellite T4S sit some distance away and are linked to the others by a shuttle service. International arrivals are spread across several terminals depending on the airline and alliance, so knowing the terminal and arrivals hall in advance is essential for the driver to wait at the right spot.

A supplier with a solid Barajas routine checks the flight before leaving, watches for delays, knows where to park or wait under the current rules of each area and carries a name sign for the passenger. We include the flight number and expected time in the booking so you can adjust the pickup to the actual landing. We recommend always confirming the current pickup areas with the airport operator, because they can change.

Atocha and Chamartín

Madrid Puerta de Atocha and Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor are the two main high-speed rail stations. Many travellers arrive by AVE from Barcelona, Valencia or Andalusia and need a transfer to their hotel or to the airport. At stations punctuality is decided on the platform: the driver should know the arrivals area, the vehicle access and how long it takes to leave with luggage.

Typical demand: international arrivals, IFEMA and events

Demand is concentrated in international arrivals of tourists and business travellers, who book ahead and expect a clear service. On top of that come the trade fairs and congresses at IFEMA Madrid, close to the airport, where hundreds of visitors need transport between hotel, venue and airport within a few days. Concerts, football matches and corporate events also create peaks on specific dates. A supplier with several vehicles, including vans and a minibus, can serve groups and is particularly valuable to us.

The VTC framework in the Community of Madrid

Vehicle hire with driver (VTC) requires an administrative authorisation and is regulated at national level by the Land Transport Act and its regulations, in addition to regional rules. The Community of Madrid publishes information on VTC authorisations, the scope of each one and the related procedures on its website. Authorisations differ, for example in whether they allow urban services, and conditions can change, so always check them at the official source.

This is general information, not legal advice: each company is responsible for checking that its authorisation covers the service it will provide. Official sources: Community of Madrid: VTC authorisations · BOE: Law 16/1987 on Land Transport (Spanish).
