Mas Lazuli is a small hotel with a long history: a convent whose origins go back to the 11th century, restored as a boutique hotel and surrounded by its own olive trees and vines. The kitchen uses vegetables from the estate garden, guests can taste the house wine and olive oil, and the hotel holds a Michelin Key. It also hosts weddings, one per day, with ceremonies in the gardens or beside the pool.
Between the Empordà plain and Cap de Creus
Pau lies at the foot of the Serra de Rodes, a few kilometres inland from Roses, where the flat Empordà farmland meets the hills of the Cap de Creus peninsula. The landscape is the attraction, but it also explains the access: the railway runs inland via Figueres, and the coastal buses serve the resorts, not the vineyards around Pau.
Getting wedding guests to the convent
Guests at a Mas Lazuli wedding usually fly into BCN a day or two before. Send us their flights and we book a fixed-price transfer for each arrival, with flights tracked and 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport. Guests staying in Roses or Figueres can be dropped at their own address, and departures after the weekend can be booked in the same request.
Practical tips
- Book the transfer to Hotel Mas Lazuli in Pau by name: it is outside Roses, on the road towards the village.
- Weddings here usually include hotel rooms, so most guests arrive the day before: book their transfers early.
- Group guests on close flights in one vehicle to keep the number of cars down.
- After the celebration we work 24/7; at the hotel the driver waits up to 15 minutes free, so agree the time in advance.
