Can Barrina is one of the old stone masias of the Montseny. The house dates from the 17th century, stood empty for around three decades, and was bought in 1984 by its current owners, who restored it as a small hotel and restaurant. Today it has a dozen or so rooms including a bridal suite, more rooms in a second building a few hundred metres away, an outdoor pool and a restaurant built around local produce from the mountain.
A wedding in the forest, a road up to reach it
Couples choose Can Barrina for ceremonies, aperitifs and dinners in the garden, with the beech and holm-oak forests of the park all around. That setting is exactly what makes arrival tricky: the house sits on the climb from Santa Maria de Palautordera to Montseny village, with no bus stop at the gate and few taxis that will come up from the valley for a single guest.
From arrivals to the masia in about an hour
A direct transfer avoids the train to the Vallès and the mountain road at night. The fare is fixed when you book, we track your flight, and if it lands late you still have 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport. Each guest or family can book their own transfer to match their flight, which keeps a wedding day free of improvised lifts.
Practical tips
- Coming for a wedding? Share the venue name and the time of the ceremony when you book, so we plan your pickup with plenty of margin.
- The road up to Montseny is narrow and winding; if you are prone to motion sickness, mention it and sit in the front.
- Book your return leg in advance: for pickups at the hotel there are 15 minutes of free waiting, so be ready at the agreed time.
- Child seats are available on request for a small supplement.
