The Pedraforca is the most recognisable mountain in Catalonia, a split limestone massif rising above the village of Saldes, and Wecamp Pedraforca sits right below it. The site has wooden cabins, bungalows and mobile homes, outdoor pools in summer and a heated indoor pool in winter, a restaurant and a bar. Hikers and climbers use it as a base for the Pedraforca routes, the Cadí-Moixeró park and the Picasso centre in Gósol, about 15 minutes away.
No train in the Berguedà, and a mountain road at the end
The railway to Berga and Guardiola closed in the early 1970s, so the whole comarca depends on the road. From the airport you can reach Berga by bus, but from Guardiola de Berguedà the B-400 climbs into the Saldes valley, and public transport on that last stretch is an on-demand service you have to book by phone. With a backpack, climbing gear or children, that is a long day before you have even seen the mountain.
Straight to the cabin, at a price fixed before you fly
A direct transfer covers the whole route, around 1h50, from BCN arrivals to the reception on the B-400. The fare is agreed when you book, your flight is tracked, and there are 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport if you are delayed. You arrive with daylight to spare instead of spending it on connections in Berga.
Practical tips
- Booked a mid-afternoon check-in? Choose a flight that lands by early afternoon so you arrive in daylight.
- Travelling with rucksacks, poles or climbing gear? Mention it when booking so there is room for everything.
- Book the return in advance: taxis are very scarce in the Pedraforca valley, and for pickups at the site there are 15 minutes of free waiting.
- Add your flight number and we follow it automatically.
