La Vella Farga is the kind of hotel people drive a long way for on purpose: a large traditional farmhouse of medieval origin, restored with only around a dozen rooms, a restaurant in the old barn serving à la carte and tasting menus, and a heated outdoor pool looking out over the woods and fields of the Solsonès, at the foot of the Pyrenees.
A county without a railway
The Solsonès has no train at all. From the airport, the public route is into Barcelona, a coach to Solsona, and then the last 8-9 km on the C-26 and two local roads, the LV-4011 and LV-4241, to the hotel entrance. That last stretch has no bus, and arriving in Solsona in the evening after a long-haul flight leaves you dependent on a local taxi being free.
Straight from arrivals to the farmhouse door
A direct transfer makes it a single drive of around 1h40 via Manresa and Solsona, with the price fixed when you book. Your flight is tracked and you have 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport, so a delay does not cost you dinner in the barn. The same applies on the way back: one booked pickup at the hotel, timed to your flight.
Practical tips
- Booked dinner on your arrival night? Tell us the time and we plan the pickup so you arrive with margin.
- Allow about 1h40 for the return and book it in advance; at the hotel there are 15 minutes of free waiting.
- Travelling on to the Pyrenees or Andorra after your stay? Ask us about a separate address-to-address transfer.
- Add your flight number when booking and we track it automatically.
