Montserrat Monastery lies about 60 km northwest of Barcelona Airport, a 55–70 minute drive on the A-2 and C-55 to Monistrol de Montserrat, then the BP-1121 mountain road up to the sanctuary. It is one of Catalonia’s iconic day trips: the Benedictine abbey, the basilica with the Black Madonna (La Moreneta), the jagged mountain and the valley views. We take you straight to the monastery esplanade, without going through central Barcelona.
